Arvid finishes the Tour for Life!

At 7:30 a.m. on July 27, Arvid Loewen finished the gruelling Tour for Life in Winnipeg.  Arvid biked over 8,000km over 23 days to raise food relief funds for the children at Mully Children's Family in Kenya.

Arvid battled cold rain, strong winds, and an elbow infection that would make any ordinary person pack up and go home.  But Arvid pressed on because he couldn't forget who he was riding for - each of the 2013 precious children at MCF.

The $155,000 raised so far from the Tour for Life couldn't come at a better time.  Kenya is experiencing a drought crisis that is threatening millions of Kenyans with starvation.  MCF is no longer able to grow enough food to feed the children and the surrounding community, and food prices have tripled in the past year.  By suffering through 23 days on the bike, Arvid is helping to make sure the children at MCF do not suffer.

On the last day of the ride alone, Arvid biked for 24 hours - from 7:30 a.m. on Sunday morning to 7:30 a.m. on Monday morning - and covered 711km!
