MCF North American Safari

This fall, the Mully Children's Family celebrated their 20th Anniversary by bringing 20 members of their MCF Mission Choir across Canada as part of their North American Safari tour. We are pleased to let you know that your prayers for health and safety were answered, and the gross proceeds from the tour are over $450,000! This out-pouring of generosity and love will go a long way toward helping MCF continue to Feed, Educate, Empower and Love the children and communities they serve in Kenya. The team travelled from Toronto to Vancouver, with over 111 presentations, covering 5 provinces and well over 7,000 km in 58 days. From national television and parliament buildings, to hockey arenas, truck stops and Tim Hortons – the team gave 110%, 100% of the time.

This was more than just a choir tour.
Sure, the team impressed audiences with their beautiful voices, their African culture, their rhythm on the drums, their disciplined karate, and the sheer strength of their acrobatic routine. It was a one-of-a-kind show that had audiences grooving in their seats and jumping to their feet for standing ovations. It was very entertaining! But it was so much more than that. The team came here with a higher purpose and with the bigger mission to be a witness of God’s love and His work in their lives. It was the message of presentation – not the talent – that touched hearts and inspired audiences across the country; and one thing is for sure – Canadians won’t be the same again!
For those who had the privilege of travelling with and spending time with the team throughout the safari, it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It felt like being a part of the early church in the book of Acts; uniting together and travlling from city to city, bearing witness to the good things that God has done and seeing Him touch and transform lives along the way.
It's all about the kids.
For many, the highlight of the trip was getting to know each of the team members: Anastacia, Grace, Esther, Lydia, Monicah, Mwongeli, Stella, Zubeda, Benedict, Dennis, Alianda, Wambua, Ogutu, Rama, Mulwa, Mumina, Gachoka, Mbithi, Timothy, Muasa, Angela, Wanzu and Redempter. Each one of them has a unique personality and a bright future. They are insightful, compassionate, hilarious, encouraging and spiritually deep. But for the grace of God these incredible young men and women could have been lost forever.
Each member of the choir boldly spoke to the hearts of Canadians, sharing their own stories of transformation and the hope they now have. They made it clear that they don’t’ want people to feel guilty or to have sympathy for African children like them. Instead, they challenged us Canadians to be grateful for what we have and to utilize the opportunities and resources available to us to make a positive difference in our lives, our families, our communities and our nation of Canada, just as they plan to impact their communities in Kenya. Are you up for the challenge?
Thank You
As we travelled from community to community, it was humbling to see how large and committed the MCF community is here in Canada. This tour would not have been possible without many of you who came out to see a show and those that went above and beyond to make sure the team had food, accommodations, clothing and of course some fun activities! Thank you to all the event organizers, billets and meal-makers for your dedication and service. There are too many of you to name here – there are hundreds, even thousands – who played a part in the success of the tour. There is no way we can repay you for the sacrifices you made for this mission. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts and pray that you will be richly blessed just as you have blessed us.
Thank you to everyone who committed to supporting us through your prayers and financial support.
A very special thanks goes to Choir Tour Director Maureen Kehler for being the master orchestrator of the Canadian safari. God has a special place for you (and your very understanding family) in heaven!! We are also deeply indebted to Vikki Buchner, Annie Tam, Michael Crane, Jenn Chaves and Lindsey Hutchison for the countless hours you volunteered to make this tour a success!

Pray for the them
As the team returns back home at MCF in Kenya, please pray for each of the team members that their transition will be smooth, that their studies will not suffer, and that they will be able to use their experience to motivate and encourage their many brothers and sisters back home.
